The ACT contains multiple-choice tests in four areas: English, Math, Reading and Science.  The writing test is optional and will not affect your composite score.

PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test)

The PSAT is offered by BHS one time per year in the Fall to juniors. The PSAT is a great practice for the SAT and ACT, but is also used as a qualifier for the National Merit Scholarship Program. This test may be held during the school day or on a weekend. Scheduled for Tues., Oct., 25th, cost is $18. After registering for PSAT, be sure to pick up your Student Practice Guide in the Student Success Center!

The ASVAB (Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery) is an aptitude test and interest assessment. It is appropriate for students who are unsure of their plans after graduaion, planning on attending a 2 year community or technical college, or entering the workforce. There is a college/career interest inventory segment on the ASVAB test that helps students with identifying potential career pathways. Free of charge.
