Homecoming Week Activities
Lighthouse Project: The Lighthouse Project will be selling their new merch for Homecoming Week in the morning on Thursday and Friday! Make sure to stop by the front doors to check out their new sweatshirts. All sweatshirts are selling for $35, make sure you bring cash!
Sources of Strength: Sources of Strength is a best practice youth suicide prevention project designed to harness the power of peer social networks to change unhealthy norms and culture, ultimately preventing suicide, bullying, and substance abuse. The mission of Sources of Strength is to prevent suicide by increasing help seeking behaviors and promoting connections between peers and caring adults. Sources of Strength moves beyond a singular focus on risk factors by utilizing an upstream approach for youth suicide prevention. This upstream model strengthens multiple sources of support (protective factors) around young individuals so that when times get hard they have strengths to rely on. Magnus Nelson (Room B103) and Jess Wales (D19) are asking for nominations for Peer Leaders. Sources of Strength Peer Leaders are a diverse group of individuals who leverage their personal and collective leadership qualities as well as their social influence in leading the charge in norming and culture change campaigns using strength-based messages to impact multiple issues including suicide. We need peers from ALL social groups! If you are interested or would like to nominate a student please fill out this Google Form:

Spanish Club: Our BHS Spanish Club will be having a fun party with games and root beer floats this Thursday, Sept. 28th, from 3:30 - 5:00 pm. Please meet in room A205 at 3:30! Everyone is welcome :)
ANIME CLUB: There will be no anime club on Thursday, September 28th. Our next Meeting will be on Thursday, October 5th. Also we will be having our annual cosplay competition on Thursday, October 26th. Please see Mr. Wagner in room D141 if you are interested in joining!
The ACT will be offered in Brainerd on Saturday, Oct 28. Go to www.act.org to sign up. Deadline to sign up was FRIDAY, Sept 22 or pay a late fee by Oct 6. BHS School code is 240-295, Brainerd Testing Code is 198110. Future Saturday test options are Dec 9 and June 8.
