GENERAL INFORMATION

SCIENCE MCAs ARE THURSDAY!  The Science (Biology) MCAs will be this Thursday, May 2, from 1st period to the end of WIN.  Please pay attention to the gold posters going up soon and find your testing location.  Bring a pencil, your earbuds, a book for afterwards and get your Zzzzzs! You got this!

 

DONUTS:  Freshman Cabinet will be selling Donuts for $1 each on both campuses every 1st and 3rd Thursdays until the end of the year.

 

LUNCH JAM is coming soon! Spring Lunch Jam will be hosted in the Courtyard on May 23, during A and B lunch. Tickets will go on sale beginning May 15. Be sure to buy tickets in advance so that we can prepare the right amount of food.

GET YOUR TEAMS READY to go for Boys Powder Buff Volleyball! This event will be held in the Brainerd High School Gym on Saturday, May 18th at 3 PM! Please sign up your teams in the Main Office by Friday, May 3rd! Write down your team color and bring with you $100 as an entry fee!  Let’s go Warriors!

 

INCOMING JUNIORS and seniors for 2019-20, please fill out the attached bus request form before the end of the school year. 2019-20 Junior & Senior Bus Request Form  

 

LOST AND FOUND is located in Student Services (Attendance office).   All Lost and Found items not claimed by May 31, 2019 will be donated.

 

WIN OFFERINGS with Mrs Bastian: Hello students, Peace of Mind is excited to offer multiple WINs for just what you need. Come learn strategies that We ALL Need in our everyday lives to cope with stress and promote positive relationships.

STUDENTS IN GRADES 9-11:  If you are interested in being more involved at Brainerd High School and would like to make decisions about events and activities, please consider applying for Student Council delegate!  Check your student email and complete the form by Friday, May 3, to have your name placed on the election ballot. If you have questions about student council, please ask a current member or talk to

SPRING MUSICAL:  Come see the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat May 2-4 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Tornstrom Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for students and seniors, and $7 for adults. All tickets can be purchased at the door an hour prior to the show. Hope to see you there!


NEED A JOB AND SOON TO BE 18?  Be part of something historical - the 2020 Census!  The Census Jobs will begin in early summer, 2019 and will involve field work updating Census address information.  The Census workers must apply online at 2020census.gov/jobs.  Training is local and so is the work.  The Census is an important endeavor and a Total and Accurate Count is the goal.  Apply today!

SPANISH CLUB will have an outdoor spring event with games and ice cream sundaes this Friday, April 26th in the BHS courtyard.  All are welcome!


ALEX’S LEMONADE STAND: Stop by the tables outside of the Media Center from Monday, April 22 to Friday, April 26th and get lemonade and cookies for $1. This fundraiser is sponsored by Key Club. All proceeds will go to Alex's Lemonade Stand, a foundation to end childhood cancer.

BHS ART SHOW:  BHS will be hosting their annual art show in May, and we are looking for art submissions now. If interested, bring your artwork to B101 or B102 by Friday, April 26th.   There will be awards and prizes for winning artworks.

GENERAL INFORMATION

MCA TESTING starts this week, Wednesday (10th Grade-Reading) and Thursday (11th Grade-Math).  Both tests will be facilitated from 8:20 until the end of WIN. Check the lists going up soon in the hallways for your room assignment.  

For Math only:  Please bring a pencil, your calculator and ear buds if desired.

AP REGISTRATION for grades 10-12 will be held in the BHS north campus cafeteria on April 24 and 25 during WIN time.  Grade 11 students will register on Wednesday. Grade 10 students will register on Thursday. Grade 12 students will be registering on Wednesday or Thursday.  PLEASE CHECK YOUR ENRICHICHING STUDENTS SCHEDULE TO VERIFY THE DAY YOU ARE SCHEDULED FOR.

CONGRATULATIONS to our 2019 writing contest winners whose work was selected from nearly 50 entries.  First place winners in these categories are: Short Story - “Enlightenment” by Chase Christian. Essay-“Home Sweet Home” by Adelaide Sanford, Poetry-“Stories of the Stars” by Abigail Marana.  See more winners on the TVs.
