GENERAL INFORMATION

SENIORS:  The general scholarship application will open Thursday, March 1! Information will be sent to your emails!

 

BASEBALL MEETING:  All students (9-12) who want to play baseball this spring should attend the first meeting on Wednesday March 7 at 3:20 in Room A-160.

 

TRACK & FIELD MEETING:  There will be meeting for all students grades 9-12 interested in participating in Track & Field this spring on Monday, March 5 at 3:25, in the BHS-NC cafeteria. Season information will be handed out. If not able to attend, girls please contact Coach Jacobs at Howard.Jacobs@isd181.org and boys Coach Reuer at Roderick.Reuer@isd181.org. Practice begins on Monday, March 12.

 

IT’S BACK!! The Brainerd District Writing Contest is the perfect chance for talented writers to shine. Deadline for entries is Thurs, April 5, and 9.  Winners from BHS will be celebrated at a ceremony on May 29. Please see posters or English teachers for more details!

 

PLEASE CONGRATULATE Gunnar Niemeyer - Athlete of the Week for Boys Swim.

 

ATTENTION SOPHOMORES!  On Friday, March 9, you will attend Career Exploration Day at Central Lakes College during hours 1-4.  You can explore a variety of occupations from over 225 career areas represented. Bring a pencil with you. Free lunch will be provided and you are required to ride the bus to and from this event.

    We will meet in the gym at 8:20 am for a brief orientation before loading buses. Please keep in mind that it’s a short ride to CLC.  Leave your books and backpacks in your lockers.  Consider leaving your coat too and bring a light jacket with you so that you don’t have to carry a winter coat with you at this indoor event.  

 

THE 28TH ANNUAL SERTOMA LIFTATHON is scheduled for March 6 and 7 at 3:30 pm both days in the BHS weight room.  One-hundred twenty Brainerd students in grades 8-12 will be participating in this fundraiser for local charities.  Teams are posted at BHS, South Campus. and Forestview.  There is no cost to participate.  The event is also open to the public and free for spectators.  

 

SOFTBALL PLAYERS:  All 9-12 softball players should report to room A-212 (Mr. Nelson's room) on Tuesday, March 6th at 3:30 pm for an informational meeting. The meeting should last 45 minutes. If you cannot make it contact Coach Jordan at 218-851-5077.

 

PSEO INFO:  Current sophomore and junior students interested in participating in PSEO next year should sign up to attend the informational WIN scheduled on Thursday, March 1. To qualify for PSEO, current sophomores must have a 3.0 GPA and current juniors need a 2.5 GPA.

 

COME JOIN SPANISH CLUB as we put together some children's coloring books and we make a photo album of BHS for an orphanage in Ecuador.  Maestra Qualley will be going to Shell, Ecuador on a Mission trip, and will work in an orphanage.  Let's brighten these children's day (and ours) as we share a part of our great school!  All are welcome to come and help this Friday, March 2nd in Ms. Qualley's room, from 3:30 - 5:00.

 

LASER SHOWS ARE RETURNING to the Forestview Planetarium!  Thursday- Saturday until March 3.  Go to fmsplanetarium.com and click on “Laser Shows”.  Only $7 per person with all early bird shows (5:30) $1 off!

IT’S SPRING BLOOD DRIVE WEEK!  There are still donor times available. Sign up with Ms. Vandeputte in her classroom A108. If you do not receive your pass on Tuesday 1st hour, Ms. Vandeputte will have it in her room. Thank you for making this Key Club event a big success!

GENERAL INFORMATION

THE ACT AND ASVAB test will be administered Tuesday, February 27, starting promptly at 8:20 a.m. Students taking the ASVAB tests should report to the Cafeteria.  Students taking the ACT should consult the lists posted around the school and report to their assigned classroom.  Please bring a #2 pencil.  Calculators are recommended, but not required.  Backpacks and food are not allowed in any testing rooms.

Students must have a picture ID to get into their testing room. (Student IDs, athletic IDs, or state IDs are appropriate forms of identification.)

All electronic devices should be stored in a separate location during the test. This includes cell phones, fitbits, apple iwatches, and calculators that connect to the internet.
