GENERAL INFORMATION

MCA TESTING:  The 10th Grade MCA Reading test is this Wednesday and the 11th Grade MCA Math test is this Thursday.  Remember to leave your cell phones in your back packs. For math, please bring your own earbuds, pencil and calculator.  Room assignments are posted in the hallways. To do your best, don’t forget to get in your Zzzzzzs!


THE BHS FINE ARTS and Activities recognition program will be held on Monday, May 7th at 6:15 in the Cafeteria.  Submissions for the Art show are due by May 3rd.  If you would like to attend the program, please pick up your tickets from Shelly in the Main office.  If you have any questions, please ask any art teacher.


WRITING CONTEST WINNERS:  Wonderful job to Brainerd High School's finest writers!! There were a total of 47 entries this year with 9 winners & 4 honorable mentions selected by the judge. Thank you for devoting time to this contest and sharing your talents with the community!

 

BRAINERD WARRIORS!  Be happy and be generous! The Key Club is sponsoring spring Happiness Project Week April 23-27. There will be a lot of cheer, including the sale of Grams of Hope to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Awareness and the sale of lemonade and cookies for Alex's Lemonade foundation for childhood cancer. We hope you take part in some or all of the activities throughout the week!

 

PAGEANT INFO:  There will be an informational meeting for the Miss Brainerd/Baxter Pageant Wednesday April 25th at 5:30 pm in the Media Center at South Campus....If you are interested but cannot attend, please contact Vicki Randall director 851-4808.

EARTH DAY:  In honor of Earth Day (April 22), Brainerd Lakers United for the Environment (BLUE), the Brainerd High School Eco Club, and Brainerd Area Coalition for Peace (BACP) invite the public to gather for an Earth Day Celebration, March, and Picnic on Saturday, April 21, 10 a.m. at Gregory Park, N. 6th Street and Juniper Street, Brainerd.  

 

PLEASE CONGRATULATE Warrior Athlete of the Week Jeff Spieker - Track.

 

BRAINERD HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE will be performing Grease at Tornstrom Auditorium April 19-21 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door an hour prior to the show. Adult admission is $7 and student admission is $5. Come watch talented students act, sing, and dance, with a pit orchestra playing songs such as “Summer Nights,” “We Go Together,” and of course, “Greased Lightnin''!" Hope to see you there!

GENERAL INFORMATION

POWWOW:  Brainerd Public Schools in partnership with Central Lakes College is hosting a Powwow at the CLC Campus this Thursday, April 19th. This FREE event is open to all those interested in helping us celebrate Native American culture in games, song and dance! Prairie Bay will serve food from 5:00-6:00 in the Cafeteria (tacos, spanish rice and a cookie). Grand Entry will begin at 6:00 in the gymnasium.

FRESHMAN BALL will be on April 20 from 6-8:45 pm in South Campus Cafeteria. The cost is $5 which includes your entrance to the dance, a drink, and snacks. It is a Semi Formal Dance. Purchase your tickets from Ms. Marcelo in SC 800 before and after school, or during lunch in the cafeteria, April 16-19. No tickets will be sold at the door. You must be present to all of your classes on April 20, in order to attend Freshman Ball on April 20.

SENIORS -  Federated Co-ops has extended their scholarship deadline to 4-24! Find all the information you need on the external scholarship list!  External Scholarship Link

 

THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED  in playing football next year must attend an information meeting on Wednesday, April 18 in the cafeteria during WIN time.  

 

ATHLETIC SIGNING:  There will be a letter of intent mock signing for all college athletes in the cafeteria after school on Wednesday, April 18th.

STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Upward Bound is a program that helps students succeed in high school and move on to  post secondary education. The program is grant based and is looking to boost their numbers before the end of the school year.  Requirements for the grant are that students are either low income and/or first generation college students.
