GENERAL INFORMATION

FREE FILM VIEWING:  Has all the extreme weather in 2017 caught your attention? Come see the riveting Leonardo DiCaprio film about climate change and its effects called "Before the Flood". The viewing will be FREE on Saturday January 27th at 1pm at the Brainerd Public Library.  

Eco Club is co-sponsoring this event and a representative from MN350 - a climate change organization in MN - will be there to facilitate a public discussion on the film. Members of the public welcome!

 

Powder Buff Volleyball- Reminder that all money, permission forms, and registration packet is due by Friday, January 19th at 3:30 PM!!!!

Attend Model United Nations with Brainerd Youth in Government (YIG). There will be an informational meeting after school on Thursday in Room B149. This Thursday (TODAY!) during 7th hour, come by room B132 between 2:00-2:45 and taste test and vote on the best chili. The more participants, the better! We have five groups competing, all with a different twist on chili, with recipes that they chose for themselves.

SCHOLARSHIP!  Ever wonder about honeybees and how to care for them?  The North Central Beekeepers Association in Brainerd, MN offers a scholarship to become a beekeeper - bees provided and hardware equipment to hive bees also provided.

Visit our website for more information, northcentralbeekeepers.org. Please attend our first meeting, January 15, 2018, at the Brainerd Arboretum.  An application form can be picked up there for youth 10 to 16 years of age.

 

STOP BY THE WeARE TABLE during A and B lunch on Wednesday, January 10, to learn more about the services WeARE offers.

 

SPANISH CLUB:  Come join the Spanish Club planning meeting on Monday, Jan. 8th at 7:45 in Ms. Qualley's room (604).  Give us ideas of activities for these winter months!  All are welcome!

 

JUNIORS:  BHS will be offering the ACT and ASVAB test on February 27th during the school day, for all juniors that are interested.  Students interested in taking ACT or ASVAB should sign-up in the Student Success Center before January 5th.

The cost of the ACT is $45 and is paid up front. The exam is no cost for students of families that qualify for the free and reduced meal program. The ASVAB test is free of charge. If students have questions about these tests, they should visit with their counselor or case manager.
